Almost exactly one year ago today, I got accepted for the European Solidarity Corps volunteering project at YoungCaritas Bolzano. Firstly, I was not sure if I should accept this possibility because I didn’t know what to expect from it.

Today, I’m sure I made the right decision. In the past seven months, I did not only learn to live independently in an unknown city, but also made a lot of new experiences, found new friends and learned Italian. Also I really like the variety of my tasks in the volunteering project: I work with children with disabilities, I prepare posts for social media, I look after children in vacation camps or support the different Caritas Services.

In conclusion the volunteering service is a horizon-broadening experience which I would recommend to everybody.
